Serbian style rice with meat
Serbian style rice with meat is one of the favourite meals in our house. The main ingredients are pudding rice, pork, tomato paste, onion. The use of pudding rice gives the dish a consistency which sticky rice would have and the tomato paste makes the dish less spicy.

  1. Peal the onion and garlic and cut it small. Cut the bell pepper (capsicum) in small dices and put it to the side.
  2. Also cut the pork into small dices and fry it in a pan with the garlic and onion until it is golden brown.
  3. After all the onion and garlic is golden brown and the meat is cooked add the pudding rice into the pan and cook it until the pieces get a little glazed.
  4. After the pudding rice is glazed add the vegetable stock and then add the tomato puree into the pan. Now you can add the chili into the pan, this is optional.
  5. If you intend to add carrots add them now (this is optional). Now add the bell peppers/ capsicum and peas into the tomato-pork mixture and mix it well.
  6. Now add the spices into the rice, use little salt and spicy capsicum power if you have used a fresh chili. After this put the lid on the pan and leave it on the stove on low heat.
  7. When the rice sticks together the dish is finished. Hope you like the taste and Bon appétit!
